Every aspect of the new website keeps the member in mind while integrating top website design trends. From design to navigation and functionality, Barshop Jewish Community Center of San Antonio is providing the best of the best for their members.

Design
The main panel on the homepage has overlapping grids and elements with two call-to-actions. There are fun typography fonts used as headlines across the homepage. Multi-colored boxes overlap the hero elements to display important information that can be easily updated at any time.
The Virtual Activities landing page displays colorful grids for users to search the live schedule, view facility updates and ways to stay connected especially as changes develop due to COVID-19. Virtual programs are also categorized for members to easily search by sports & fitness, youth & family, arts & culture, senior activities & resources and Israeli culture.

A great example of what these pages look like is their Health & Fitness page. There are custom design aspects such as a left-centered image with right-centered text. Throughout the website, you will see design trend components such as unique typography, white space, geometric elements, overlapping grids and nonlinear lines. The great thing about Barshop JCC’s site is that it is built using components that can be placed and reordered throughout any of the pages on the site to create a custom user experience.
Functionality

The Virtual Activities Calendar manages the schedule for the live streaming classes that happen over Zoom or Facebook Live. The calendar has filter capabilities to search by instructors or by day.
Keeping convenience in mind for members, Barshop JCC’s website also features autofill for member login information to make it easy to sign up for programs and services.
Navigation
Barshop JCC of San Antonio displays their secondary navigation menu items with playful icons. Instead of just listing out the sports and recreation programs using plain text, the icons offer a more customizable approach to navigation.
The hamburger menu (consisting of three vertical lines) in the top right corner also displays the navigation items. This is just another way for visitors to quickly access any page they are searching for.
